Global shipments of smartphones and computers are large, wearable devices and smart home markets are developing rapidly, and there is a strong demand for TFT-LCD. Compared with the international market, China's TFT-LCD production capacity has expanded rapidly in the past five years, and the output value has continued to grow. According to the "2022-2026 China Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display Device (TFT-LCD) Industry Market Survey and Research Report" released by Xinsijie Industry Research Center, in 2020, China's TFT-LCD production capacity will account for the first time in the world's total production capacity. More than 50%, in 2021, the domestic TFT-LCD production capacity will account for 57%, and the output value will reach about 74 billion US dollars. In 2021, in the global TFT-LCD market, Chinese companies BOE, Huaxing Optoelectronics, Innolux, AUO, Huike, etc. have a relatively high market share. Among them, BOE is the world's largest TFT-LCD manufacturer. - The LCD field also has strong competitiveness.
The global display panel technology continues to improve, products continue to iterate, CRT has been eliminated, LCD has become the mainstream of the market, OLED has the advantages of lighter, thinner and flexible display, transparent display, etc., is forming a squeeze on the LCD market. The global TFT-LCD production capacity is concentrated in the three major regions of mainland China, Taiwan, and South Korea. From the perspective of the Korean market, panel manufacturers such as Samsung and LG are eliminating LCD production lines to expand OLED production capacity. TFT-LCD is currently the mainstream LCD product, only LG still Has some large-size TFT-LCD production lines. TFT-LCD production capacity in overseas markets is shrinking, so although my country's TFT-LCD production capacity is rapidly expanding, the global TFT-LCD output value is still stable.
According to industry analysts from Xinsijie, in 2021, in the global display panel industry, TFT-LCD shipments will still account for 65%, much higher than 20% of OLED. In comparison, TFT-LCD shipments are relatively stable, OLED has become an upgrade trend for display panels, and shipments have grown rapidly. In the short term, TFT-LCD will still be the mainstream product in the display panel market, but in the future, under the squeeze of OLED, its demand will gradually decline. In the long run, the development space of TFT-LCD will shrink. my country has become the world's largest producer of TFT-LCD, with large-scale development of enterprises and cost-effective products, which will further squeeze the development space of Korean and Taiwanese manufacturers. In the future, Chinese TFT-LCD manufacturers are expected to monopolize the global TFT-LCD market.
